UNDERSTANDING THE NUMBERS

What Our Rankings Mean

A straight answer for travelers who want to know what they're looking at — without the fine print getting in the way.

💵 "Est weekly gross"

When you see a dollar amount like $4,200/wk, that's our best estimate of what a journeyman could gross in a week on a strong call at that local.

It's not someone's actual paycheck and it's not a guarantee. It's a ballpark based on what's posted on the board right now — rate, schedule, overtime, and per diem where listed.

Always labeled est for a reason. Your actual take-home depends on classification, taxes, dues, local rules, and which call you actually land.

📋 Where the data comes from

Same places you'd check yourself:

Dispatch boards and job call pages at each local
Open call counts — how many spots are out
Journeyman scale — the base wage for that area

We scrape and organize this automatically, then refresh rankings on a regular schedule so the numbers stay current.

🔥 "Hottest Local" & the heat score

#1 Hottest isn't just "who pays the most." The heat score blends estimated weekly gross with how many jobs earn that same amount. Lower-paying calls at the same local cannot inflate one premium call.

The strongest mix of pay and jobs at that pay stands for each local. Higher heat means a hotter opportunity right now.

#1 Hottest and #1 Gross Pay (💰) can be different locals — one reflects the best overall blend, the other is purely the highest estimated weekly gross.

🗺️ Hot Spots

The Hot Spots page is separate from Hottest Locals. Two ways to sort:

By Calls — who's hiring the most right now
By Hourly — highest journeyman scale rates

✅ Trust it for direction. Verify before you roll.

Good for…

Spotting where money and work are lining up. Comparing locals at a glance. Deciding where to dig deeper before you travel.

Not a substitute for…

Calling the hall. Reading the actual posting. Confirming rate, schedule, requirements, and book status yourself.

Bottom line: GoHereBro helps you find the opportunity. The hall confirms it. Use our numbers to point you in the right direction — then verify everything before you make a move.
